The GW MINI winder is a device that allows extremely precise control, setting up each movement in tiny increments for linear movements. It is controlled by a wheel that moves minutely a gear connected to a linear rack that performs the sliding. Each complete turn of the wheel slides the traveling rack 16mm. It is our most precise winder. The steel rack, with a pitch module of 0.5mm, provides smooth and miniscule movement and its best used to move or animate small and delicate elements in set. It can hold around 250g and can travel 180 cm.
We offer 2 versions for this winder, X and XY, meaning the number of axis you will be able to control with just one device.
At the end of this device you have mounted a Rig arm to hold puppets or elements in place. The major objective of this tool is to maximize the precision and control of a movement controlling an axis at a time. They are often used to achieve complex movements or simplifying one axis displacements.

The body has a 1⁄4” -20 thread, so you hold it from many camera or light supports.

It’s ending tip connection, which has a is a M3 screwded hole in the tip, is a 3,96 mm square shape that fits in a brass square tube also supplied (4,76mm Square tube connector). If you want spare material you can find it at the materials section.

We have available extra racks in different dimensions, in case you need a longer travel or find convenient to have extra units of rack.
